Make A Donation
Education can change lives and strengthen communities. Your support for our programs in rural Kenya can provide a safe place for a young person to live and to learn, to develop skills to be self-sufficient, and to be prepared for opportunities that might not otherwise be available to them.
We welcome donations of any size. A small amount goes a long way in Kenya and it is immensely satisfying to see what an impact this can have on the lives of young people. And we keep any administrative costs as low as possible to ensure it goes even further.

Sponsor a Student
Education is subsidised to an extent in Kenya, however there are many students from disadvantaged circumstances who would otherwise not be able to attend school without financial support. VGT provides bursaries for young people with disability to attend the Vanessa Grant Special School (VGS), and for girls to attend high school at the Vanessa Grant Girls’ School (VGGS). In addition, VGT provides modest living support bursaries for students graduating from the VGGS, enabling them to attend university.
All sponsored bursaries cover a four-year period and include a full residential experience, with costs varying depending on the School attended. As a Sponsor, you will receive regular updates from the School for the student you are sponsoring, including reports on academic progress and personalised letters.
To ensure continuity and to provide some certainty for the duration of their study, we do ask Sponsors to commit to a four-year pledge.

Fundraising
Holding a charity fundraising event can be a very rewarding way of showing your support for the VGT. If you are planning a sponsored personal challenge such as a marathon or walk, hosting an event, or having a party and would like your friends to make a charitable donation rather than bringing gifts, consider making it even more special by funding a bursary or a school development project.
We can provide support with ideas for fundraising and marketing materials for events. We can also share practical information about online fundraising platforms available in each country, where you can set up your own fundraising page, and share your goals and progress with your social networks.
If you would like to help fundraise for us or have any questions about fundraising, please contact one of our trustees in your country.
Leaving a Legacy
Your Will reflects who you are, your values, how you want to be remembered and what you care about most in your lifetime. It also determines the impact you may have on the world after you have passed: your legacy.
Deciding to leave a gift in your Will is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and there are several different ways you can make such a gift. It’s important for you to properly informed, and we recommend you seek the advice of an independent legal professional or qualified legal advisor before making any changes to your Will.
Every gift – no matter its size – will help us continue our work to provide educational opportunities for young people in rural Kenya. If you choose to inform us of your decision, we can thank you for your generous contribution.
